Lake Çıldır Festival, celebrated annually in winter, brings many people from all over Turkey together

Each year, at a period connecting January to February, you can attend the traditional Lake Çıldır Winter Festival to enjoy horse race over the frozen lake, traditional javelin competition and ice sculptures. The freezing cold will be a landmark to make you remember the festival in which both Janissary Bands and folk dancers would participate. Other than the winter festival, there is also a biannual Lake Çıldır Festival taking place in the month of July, where entertainments and folk dances take place
