Day 1 Historical and Cultural Riches of Kars

Morning: Arrive at Kars Harakani Airport early in the morning. Pick up your rental car from the airport and drive to Kars city center. Your first stop should be Kümbet Mosque (formerly known as the Church of the Twelve Apostles) and Evliya Mosque at the foot of Kars Castle. After visiting these historical buildings, walk towards the river and explore the old stone bridges and baths. You can go up to Kars Castle or take a walk in the quadrangle between Ordu and Atatürk Streets and examine the historical stone structures.

Afternoon: After exploring the historic streets of Kars, visit the Fethiye Mosque. This mosque is an important part of the historical texture of Kars. You can have lunch at a restaurant serving the local cuisine of Kars.

Day 2: A Day in Nature

Morning: Enjoy Kars kashkaval, natural honey, kete, and rabbit blood tea at Çıldır Lake Taş Konak for breakfast. Then, set off towards Çıldır Lake. You can take a walk around the lake in spring and summer, and explore the lake in winter, prepared for the cold weather conditions.

Afternoon: After your pleasant hours at Çıldır Lake, find a place for lunch where you can enjoy local delicacies. A day full of activities around the lake awaits you.

Afternoon: After lunch, set off for the Şeytan Castle. You can get to the castle by car for about 400 meters and then you will have to reach the castle on foot. It can be difficult to walk this way in winter, so be prepared. If you do not want to walk, you can watch the Devil’s Castle and the magnificent view of the valley from the Kurtkale pass.

Evening: In the evening, return to Çıldır Lake Stone Mansion. In the warm atmosphere of the mansion, you can listen to the lovers’ quarrels, which are part of the local culture, or visit the village exhibition. Spend the night in the mansion and have a peaceful sleep.
