“Kete” (Regional Meatpie)

Unique to the Kars-Adahan region, ‘kete’ is a deep-rooted and delicious part of Turkish culinary culture. Unfortunately, in big cities, this traditional flavor has lost its naturalness over time and turned into a kind of patisserie product. At Çıldır Lake Taş Konak, we preserve this authentic and pure flavor of kete and offer it to our guests.

Kete is a gift of immigrant Turkish culture. Throughout history, it has been indispensable for tables with both sweet and savory varieties. Kete is hard on the outside and soft and plump on the inside. This structure makes flax both satisfying and durable for a long time, so it does not spoil easily.

At Çıldır Lake Taş Konak, we prepare flax by the original, traditional methods. Our features are made using natural ingredients and carefully prepared by hand. In this way, the original flavor and texture of the flax is preserved. Served as sweet or savory for breakfast, our ketes offer our guests the opportunity to taste one of the most beautiful examples of traditional Turkish cuisine.
